Tuck Everlasting

Before we start I just gotta say that I did not, I repeat, did NOT read this book on my own free will. It was a Language Arts asignment over the summer and I just thought, "What the hey!"
So bear with me, it's not as bad as you'de think.
"Tuck Everlasting" by Natalie Babbit is a cross over between Twilight and a Judy Bloom mystery book. You may be wondering why. And here's were the summary comes in . . .

Winnie Foster was a stranger to adventure and life. The only adventure she ever got to experience is when she would catch fireflies in her front yard. But Winnie wanted more. She didn't want to be stuck in her house playing the piano all day. So she simply hopped her fence into the woods. But what she didn't expect to find there was a boy drinking in a small spring.
And when they started talking she later insisted on taking a sip. But the boy wouldn't let her. Why? Because that spring is the reason he's been seventeen for eighty-seven years and counting.

Now I assure you that there's more to the story than that. But if I typed it all up, then not only would you know everything that happens, I would be left with a blog that goes down the length of the page.

But here's the crossover difference.

TWILIGHT:

  • The Tucks have lived a long time, and one of them is even frozen at seventeen.

  • If you squint you can see some romance with said seventeen year old.

  • There's industructable. Nothing can hurt them.

JUDY BLOOM MYSTERY BOOKS: (Note: I've only ever read the back covers)

  • There's mystery and some detective work. (Duh)

That's how we play . . . The Crossover Game! And now, ladies and gentlemen, it's time for what I like to call, MY OPINION!

"Tuck Everlasting" is very confusing in the beggining, it's not that easy to keep up. One minute it's talking about the Fosters and before you can blink it's on to the Tucks. Natalie starts the books off like you should already know what everything is. She doesn't take her time to explain anything, so you just gotta go with it and figure it out on your own. (Which, by the way, is really hard to do when you got a packet with questions on every chapter.)

But once you get it down it's actually quite good. At the end of every chapter there's a I DIDN'T SEE THAT ONE COMING moment. So for you people out there this could be a really good recomandation for a book or it could be a heads up for you're up coming school work. Enjoy!

ALSO! : HOLY CRAP! I read Mockingjay and they aint kidding when they say it's gonna be the most talked about book of the year, because I can't stop talking about it!

ALSO! : I don't know if this has anything to do with anything, but Lifehouse is coming to Michigan close to my birthday! Woot Woot.

OH AND! : Just thought I should tell you that "Tuck Everlasting" is indeed a movie. But un-like the rest of my blogs I'm not going to post the trailer because, frankly, it isn't a very good one.

REMEBER: I love anyone who bothers to even read my blog! :P

The Mockingjay: COMING SOON

AH! :)
I'm so excited! I mean I'm litteraly bouncing in my seat right now! Why? Because the coolest series ever known to man has another book coming out this Tuesday! Get ready for a new addition to THE HUNGER GAMES!

(Crowd cheers)

Ok. Ok. Quiet down now. No need to get all frantic and stuff. There's only one day left and three hours from the time I'm posting this blog. Whew. Okay, now time for the informational crap on the book that I'm supposed to write; being a reviewer and all.

Anywho:
HERE'S THE BOOK COVER FOR SUZANNE COLLINS NEW BOOK, "MOCKINGJAY"

The covers always give you hints as to what might be going on in her books. Can you figure it out? I think I know. If you ask nicely I might tell you . . .
Now considering that the book isn't out; I can't really tell you what I personally think about it. But I can give you the summary.

THE BEST SUMMARY EVER:
"Against all odds, Katniss Everdeen has suvived the Hunger Games twice. But now that she's made it out of the bloody arena alive, she's still not safe. The Captiol is angry. The Capitiol wants revenge. Who do they think should pay for the unrest? Katniss. And what's worse, President Snow has made it clear that no one else is safe either. Not Katniss' family, not her friends, not the people of District 12. Powerful and haunting, this installment of Suzanne Collins groundbreaking the Hunger Games trilogy promises to be one of the most talked about books of the year."

Did you catch that last section there? It promises to be one of the most talked about books of the year! So are you gonna be a looser and not read one of the most talked about books of the year!? I shall think not. Everyone and their mother is going to be reading this. Heck! Everyone and their GRANDMOTHER will read this. So don't be a goey chocolate chip cookie and buy this book!

Also! This is tottaly off topic but; I DON'T WANNT TO GO BACK TO SCHOOL! Sigh. I wish I could make summer last longer. What say you?

Also! The Hunger Games movie baby! 2011.

Well that's all for now folks.
But REMEMBER: I love anyone who even bothers to read my blog. <3

Percy Jackson and the Olypians: The Lightning Thief

Percy Jackson and the Olympians is a very amazing series in itself. I wish I could just sit around and gossip to you about how totally awesome all the books are but then I'd be sewed for causing people to have a brain malfunction. So I decided that it would probably be easier and less traumatic for you guys if I took it one book at a time.
So, naturally, we're going to start with the first one. Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief. (Man that's a mouthful!)

In the Lightning Thief Percy Jackson, age 12, is just any regular juvenile delinquent. He's been kicked out of every school and has never attended the same one for two years in a row. Percy suffers from dyslexia and ADHD. Suddenly everything changes when Percy's class takes a trip to a museum.

Percy then is brought to Camp Half - Blood and is faced with the truth. He's a demigod.
Now just imagine it. You were brought to a place that you've never knew existed with people you don't know. Who can you trust? Not only that but you've been told that Greek gods are real. And that you're father is one of them.
Now if that were me I would have gone in my pants and then fainted.
Just between you and me.

Then Percy is accused of stealing from the lord of the Gods, Zeus. All in a weeks time. That has to be some sort of demigod record. He should go in the Olimpics. Ha- ha! Whew, sorry, I couldn't resist.

Anywho, Percy barks on an adventure to save the world. With the help of his trusty friends Grover and Annabeth. Also kind of a tiny spoiler for people who want to read the books and haven't yet seen the movie. Annabeth and Percy become love intrest somewhere along the series. But I'm sure that was pretty obvious.
It wasn't? Really? Um, uh, okay. Sorry?

Ahem . . .

In other words! Here's the
trailor!

Awesome, right? Okay. So one of my fellow blogging friends, The Silver Screen Addict, reviewed this movie. So if you're at least wondering if this is a good movie then check out his review.

Also! Rick Roirdan (The amazing author of said book) is working on another series. It's going to be c.alled "The Lost Hero" It features new demigods and has a different narriator but it still has our beloved characters from Percy Jackson. Speaking of Percy Jackson, he's the so called, lost hero. And Annabeth is going crazy looking for him, but she needs the help of some new friends. You can go online and read the first two chapters but WARNING: There's a stupid cliffhanger at the end. Anyway, check it out.

The Last Song

"The Last Song" was recommended to me by my friends at school. I heard it was a good book and was meaning to get around to actually reading it for a long time. And when I did, no one was more shocked then me. I thought this was going to be boring and romantic. Nothing but a story of a couple of teenagers 'falling in love.' And I couldn't have been more wrong. The Last Song has soo much going on and soo much action, I didn't ever know if I was suppost to be happy, sad, actious, or scared! (And by action I don't mean guns and war. I mean it never stops being exciting!) But, oh yeah, there's still a little romance for those of you that were bumbed out for a second there.

"The Last Song" is the story of a New Yorker named Ronnie and she's 17 years old. Ronnie's the kind of goth, punk girl that goes to clubs every night and has been arrested once or twice. So, overall, she's a pretty scary chick. But one summer Ronnie and her younger brother (Jonah) are shipped out to their dad's. And the last thing Ronnie expects is to fall in love with Will.

Will's a rich, volleyball- playing, beach bum kind of a guy. (Not in the bad way.) And he's nowhere near Ronnie's "type." But believe it or not they come together.

But when Marcus gets involved in the story things go wrong. Very wrong. Ronnie will find herself and discover Will's secret in Nicholas Spark's #1 Book of New York Times Bestseller; "The Last Song."

"Sparks knows how to tug at a reader's heartstrings."

- Chicago Sun-Times

"Romance, betrayal, and youthful discovery . . . Fans of The Notebook, Message in a Bottle, etc., will gobble it up."

- Entertainment Weekly

"41/2 stars! Readers will be invested in this story from the beginning. That it's never too late to strengthen relationships with loved ones is a central focus, and it's exemplified by comparing life to a song. Another emotional blockbuster!"

- RT Book Reviews

I've been wanting to read one of Nicholas Sparks books for a long time and I was stuck on which one. But I wouldn't have wanted it to be any other, because this is a truly awesome book! I'm thinking about maybe another one of his books. Any recommendations?

And for those of you who have been hiding under a rock and didn't know; "The Last Song" is also a major motion picture. It stars Miley Cyrus as Ronnie, And Liam Hemsworth as Will.

I went and saw the movie and actually it was pretty good. . .if you've never read the books. But if you've read the book you probably won't like how much they changed it. But it was still a good movie. And I'm not even a fan of Miley Cyrus. Honestly, I hate her. Sorry to Miley fans out there. It's my opinion. :]

Also! My Eclipse countdown continues. From the time I'm posting this it will be 7 hours and 2 minutes until Eclipse comes out in theaters near you! And to dumb it down a little . . . 1 day!

Okay, well, I thought that since some of you may to lazy to read the books then I'll let you watch the trailor. 'Cause maybe you'll see the movie. And here it is! Enjoy!

And remember: I love anyone you actually takes there time to read my blog! Peace out Home DogZ! =]

Night World Series #1-3

Ever wish that vampires, werewolves, witches, and shape-shifters are really out there? In the Night World series it makes all your wishes come true when you open up the first page!

The series is all about entering a whole new world. The Night World. Through out the books you'll go on different "adventures" with different characters as they come face to face with the Soulmate Principle - that every person is born with another half or a true love. But in the end all the characters come together to fight against the apocalypse. There's only one rule for the creatures of the night... Never fall in love with a human. And these are the stories of the people who broke the one enforced rule.

Book #1: The first book I would honestly say is the most boring. I really had trouble getting into it. It's tittled "Secret Vampire." And this is a story about a teenage girl named Poppy. She's just started the summer and like any other teenager she's excited to spend the time with her best friend; James. But things come crashing down for her when Poppy is diognosed with terminal cancer and has been marked with an experation date. James, a "secret" vampire, has the power to save her. But will they go against the law of the Night World to do it?
3 out of 5 stars.

Book #2: "Daughters Of Darkness" is one of my personal favorites of the whole series =]. Three vampire sisters leave their isolated home to live with the humans and have a normal life. They're now fugitives of the Night World. But when they get an unexpected visit from their brother, Ash, everything is turned upside down and sideways for the sisters. Ash was sent to bring them back home and if he doesn't succeed then it's not only his fate he's messing with but his sisters. And what will happen when he meets his human soulmate along the way?
5 out of 5 stars.

Book #3: Spellbinder is different and exciting. Two witch cousins move to a new town with their grandmother. Blaze and Thea are inseperable and have been together since birth. But when Thea finds her soulmate, what will Blaze do to get in the way?
4 out of 5 stars.

And by the way, just incase you have any plans to go to the store and buy these books, I should warn you that there's three books in one. Confused? Well, all these stories I reviewed are different books in one book together. Okay I probably just made it worse. If you understand my logic; then kudos to you! Great series. Go out and buy it or I'll hunt you down! Not really.

Also! For you Twilighterz out there, Eclipse is coming out in Theatres on Wednesday of this week! Two days for those of you trying to do the math in your head. I'm going at Midnight, cause that's just how cool I am.

Also! The third book of the Hunger Games series I reviewed about is coming out on August 24th and it's called; "Mockingjay" And be planning on me reviewing the second book of the series; "Catching Fire" soon!

Also! The 10th book in the Night World series is sceduled to come out in April 26th 2011! (Really it's the 4th book, book of the series) Too long.

Okay well that's all I got. Don't forget to comment and tell me what other books I should review! And remember, I love everyone who bothers to even read my blog! =]

The Twilight Series

I'm sure that if your a book lover then you've already heard of Twilight, right? Well it sure wouldn't suprise me. Twilight is a great heart wrenching series that can always find a way to grab your attention. Now, I'm sure you won't believe this but Twilight is what started me on reading. Creepy, right? So, obviously, I highly recomend it for a good read. Now it's neigh time for the summary:

The Twilight series is all about a seventeen year old girl who moves to Forks to "spend time with her dad" but really it's to make her mom happy. Bella hates it there and fears that life will never go back to normal. And she's right. When she meets Edward Cullen, Bella finds out that life can never ever go back to normal. And she loves it. Or she loves him. Either one. But you see, Edward is a creepy stalker like vampire. Throught this whole series Bella expiriences confusion, heartbreak, love, heartbreak again, and then love again, and then she has to make one of the hardest decisions in man kind . . . Dun, Dun, Dun.

And speaking of Twilight; you all did know there's a movie out, right? No? Well, there is. Not only that but there's a sequel! It's called New Moon. I think you idiots out there who have never seen Twilight or New Moon need to get yourselves to a video store right away!

BookMasterFan: Gasp! Is this what I think it is!?

Me: It's not what it looks like!

BookMasterFan: You just suggested to a bunch of book lovers that they should see a (cringe) movie!

Me: Okay . . . so it's exactly what it looks like.

BookMasterFan: How could you, J. Peterson!? I thought you were one of us. I thought that you didn't like movies. I thought that you only liked books. I thought that you-

Me: Obviously you think to much. (Interupting)

And yes, it's true. Sigh. I did suggest that you guys should see the movie. But in my deffense it's Twilight related. I mean, I wouldn't be a true fan if I didn't see the movies. So I'm sorry for those of you that flipped out when you read that. I didn't mean to cause any heart attacks. So . . .

"Bookmaster4life.blogspot.com can not be held responsible for any injeries that may accure while on this website. Side affects include heartburn, dizziness, loss of hearing, eternal bleeding, ruptured lungs, etc." (Rushed commercial voice.)

Putting all that medical stuff to the side. I would like to interduice to you the Twilight Saga cast! Well, most of it anyway.
Ladies and gentlemen in the far left corner we have Rachelle Lefevre, who plays Victoria. In the back towards the middle (The really tan guy) is Taylor Launter, who plays Jacob Black. And on the far right (The guy in the yellow jacket) is Fenimore Cooper, he plays James. And the main girl in the middle is Kristen Stewart and she plays Bella Swan. Next to Kristen is Robert Pattinson, who plays the tottaly hot vampire; Edward Cullen.

Also! Don't forget to see the movies Twilight and New Moon. Plus, Eclipse comes out in theaters near you on June 3oth! Checkz it outz!

And Remember: I love anyone who bothers to even read my blog! Don't forget to comment or Follow me. That would be appriciated! Peace out Home DogZ! =]

Maximum Ride: An Angel Experiment

Maximum Ride is a fun living series about 6 kids fending for themselves. Oh, and they have wings. This series has a total of 6 books in it but with one on it's way. "An Angel Experiment" is the book that starts out the whole adventure.

The main character is a 14 year-old girl named Maximum Ride. (Max for short) She has blond hair and is very stuborn. Max is also the leader of the "flock" and she's the oldes of the 6 bird kids.
In this book the youngest of the clan is taken and brought to the School. (Angel)
The School is a lab where the flock was created. 'Cause they weren't born this way, they were taken away or donated by their parent when they were only little kids.
So the flock goes on a mission to save Angel. But will they get her back and uncover the dark secrets of the School in wich they were created? I guess you'll have to read it and find out. :P

This book is honestly one of the best books ever created. The author is James Patterson and he does a terrific job of keeping the readers intrest. Go J. P!
Also if someone asked me wich series is better Twilight or Maximum Ride? I would without a doubt pick Maximum Ride. It's funny, action packed, and believe it or not they even have a tiny bit of romance. You really couldn't find a better book if you tried. This is probably the best book I could ever recomend to you. So take my edvice and read it!

P. S. Sorry my description of the book wasn't the best! Believe me when I say it's really hard to describe whats going on in this book without tottaly copying James Patterson's version. :/

The Immortal Series

I've read many books in my short life but this has to be one of the worst. The first book is great and keeps you on the edge of watever your sitting on but it just goes down hill from there.

This story is on a girl named Ever who's one of the most popular kids in school. She has the perfect fanticy life that every girl would love to live. She's a cheerleader, popular, and is dating one of the hottest guys in school. But everything changes after she dies.
Yes, you heard me right, she died. Along with the rest of here family and the family's dog in a car crash. When the paramedics "start he heart again" she realizes she's the only one in the family that made it out alive, and she's forced to move in with her aunt.
After starting out in her new life she notices that she's "different."
Ever posesses the power to know everything about a person or thing simply by touching it and, oh yeah, she can read minds. Not only does she have to deal with all this but she can see the dead.
But everything changes, once again, when she meets the new kid in school, Damen. And it doesn't take long for Ever to fall for Damen. What with his unhumanly good looks. And believe it or not there's a reason for it, because Damen is inhuman. Get it? Ever and Damen go through heartbreak, struggle, and much more throughtout the series with a couple suprises along the way.

Okay, well if your lost like I was when I first heard about this series then pick it up and start reading my friend. Althought I really don't recomend it. Now here are my ratings. . .

The Immortals Series:

1) Evermore: 4 1/2 out of 5 stars.

2) Blue Moon: 3 out of 5 stars.

3) Shadowland: 2 out of 5 stars.

And there is 3 more to come. So if you think this sounds interesting, then be my guest and read them. But on your way to the book store please see a doctor.

The Hunger Games

Okay, so one of my favorite books ever is "The Hunger Games." It has all of the most wanted traits in a book; Suspense, action, romance, even comedy. When I read this book, I just couldn't stop! It always leaves you hanging on the edge. Now, after all my talk about how totally awesome it is I'm sure you're wondering what it's about. Am I right? I know I am.

"The Hunger Games" takes place in America hundreds of years into the future, it's then known as Panem and is made up of 12 districts. The main character is sixteen -year-old Katniss Everdeen who lives in District 12. Every year in Panem 2 contestants, a boy and a girl between the ages 12 and 18, are chosen at random and thrown into an arena to fight to the death on national television. This is called The Hunger Games.

On the day of the Reaping, when the contestants are drawn and shown to the world, Katniss is ready for the worst. But she's at complete shock when she realizes that her 12-year-old sister is picked to go into the arena of death. So she does what any overly protective older sister would do. She volunteers to take her place.

But there is yet another twist to this story when Peeta Mellark is also chosen from Disrtict 12, for Katniss and him have met before in not-so-good circumstances. And later while training for the upcoming games, he is portrayed as her lover.

The Hunger Games is simple and has only one rule, kill or be killed. And when you have 24 other people out to kill you themselves, the chose seems very obvious.

This book keeps you on your toes and, if you asked me, is a very very good read. I would give it 4 out of 5 stars. Also, there is a movie that is being made about it that is scheduled to come out in 2011 so don't miss it.
WARNING: MAJOR BOOK SPOILERS BEYOND THIS POINT! CONTINUE . . . IF YOU DARE.

For those of you who have already read "The Hunger Games" then you know that Katniss sings a lullaby to Rue when she dies. This is what I think it should sound like. And, just for the record. I think this girl has a beautiful voice and I wish I could sing like that . . . but I can't. So please don't ask if this is me. 'Cause it's not. =P
